The creation of Fireflies & Flamingos
I would like to warmly welcome you to my Fireflies & Flamingos : Travel Website!
After thirty exciting and rewarding years as a public K-12 teacher and administrator, I decided to pursue a dream of planning travel for others.
I have a passion for learning, travel, researching, planning, helping others, and finding a high quality bargain.
I have always enjoyed planning travel for myself, my family, and others. Therefore, after retirement, I spent countless hours of study to become a certified independent home-based travel agent.
As a travel specialist, I receive wholesale and discounted pricing on almost every type of travel with every travel company imaginable in North America and abroad. (See the "Services" section below.)
I would love the opportunity to design your idea of the perfect vacation or get-away!
The Significance in the Name:
Balance, beauty, and slowing down to appreciate all that surrounds us:
FIREFLIES — I have many childhood memories of spending time with my cousins chasing & watching fireflies. “They (fireflies) remind us that it's the small, simple things in life that matter the most. They inspire us to take a moment to slow down, ground ourselves in the moment, and appreciate all that surrounds us.” (https://www.wellandgood.com/firefly-meaning/amp/)
FLAMINGOS - I was once part of a grade 8 school based team of Flamingos. This team of educators (and the students) created some of my best memories during my thirty years as an educator. The team of educators and the shenanigans associated with them carried over into many vacations (Flamingo Floyd goes to Virginia Beach, etc.). “The symbolism and meaning of flamingos include beauty, balance, potential, and romance.” (https://www.uniguide.com/flamingo-symbolism-meaning...)
